Wow, I can't believe today we celebrate 800+ special needs friends. God provided us with almost 500 volunteers. This has always been bigger than anything we could do ourselves.
Tammy
and I started Night to Shine KC back in 2016, at our dinner table. The
first year, we had 85 guests at the Brush Creek Community Center. The
next year, the planning team was still just the two of us, and we hosted
it at Arrowhead Stadium. We didn't have to worry about a conflict; the
Chiefs were not that good. We moved to Union Station two years later
because we outgrew the Arrowhead event space.
Union
Station was a great partner, but our team had two big problems: we were
outgrowing the space and constantly conflicting with the Chiefs. The
last two years, the Super Bowl was the Sunday after Night to Shine, and
people packed into Union Station to see all the cool Chiefs stuff.
I
recommended that we move this year to the Hy-Vee event center; for
those of you old enough to remember, this is the old Kemper Arena. So,
we will host Night to Shine KC tonight at 6 PM in the Hy-Vee Event
Center. Tammy and I can relax as we have handed the ministry over to
others and a great partner church, Graceway.
Our single goal remains unchanged: may God be glorified and everything we say and do point people to Him.
Day 34 - February 9 – Night to Shine 2
What a day to celebrate!
May God’s glory be on display for all to see tonight! It’s go time!
Please
pray for extra energy for all the teams, coordinators, and Volunteers.
Pray that every detail would fall in place perfectly and at the perfect
time. May God be glorified in everything!
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In
the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see
your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
